Steering damper for 200-300Tdi Discovery and Range Rover classic.
Also for SIII LR88/109.The steering damper is an important component of your Land Rover’s steering system. Its main function is to reduce vibrations, shocks and unwanted feedback transmitted through the steering wheel, especially when driving on rough terrain or uneven roads.
Mounted between the front axle and the steering linkage, it works as a hydraulic stabilizer that absorbs impacts and helps maintain directional stability. This improves driving comfort and provides better control of the vehicle in demanding conditions.
Over time, steering dampers can wear out, lose pressure or develop leaks, leading to reduced effectiveness. Common symptoms include steering wheel vibrations, wandering steering or instability at higher speeds and off-road use.
Replacing the steering damper restores steering precision and improves overall vehicle control. It is especially recommended for off-road use and classic Land Rover models such as the Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic and Series III.
